[She pauses, considering an idea. It's been a while since she's had much reason to carve protective medallions.]

What if I gave you something kind of like a good luck charm? It's supposed to help ward off trouble where I came from.

Can you do that? We also have charms back home, but we can only get them at shrines if they've been blessed by priests!

[She hesitates a bit, considering how to answer. She isn't sure if she can convincingly pass herself off as a priestess but if he's scared of ghosts, she doesn't know how well he'd deal with the idea that she's a witch. So, she's going to be evasive...]

...Sort of. There's a lot of power in nature and if you combine it in the right way, it can be pretty effective. It won't chase off everything but it should help.

Is that something common in America, where you come from? It -- doesn't sound too different from what we do back home. ...I think. Could it be possible to get a charm? I can get you the ingredients, I don't mind!

Not hardly. Many folks don't believe in such things anymore but I reckon I could put together a charm for you. And you don't have to worry about the ingredients. I can use things from my own garden.
